This Saturday we will be in action at Il Lombardia. The final ‘Monument’ of the year is always a highlight of the calendar and signals the end of a long season for many riders.
The 113th edition of Il Lombardia promises plenty of action, with the 243km course starting in Bergamo and ending in Como. The first big test of the day comes at 50km into racing, with the climb of Colle Gallo. From there, the riders will need to navigate five more climbs, including Muro di Sormano and Colma di Sormano, before reaching the finish line in Como.
Lining up for Team Dimension Data will be Roman Kreuziger, Michael Valgren, Louis Meintjes, Amanuel Ghebreigzabhier, Danilo Wyss, Tom-Jelte Slagter and Jaco Venter.
Quote- Louis Meintjes
“It was good to have a nice day out at Gran Piemonte, and it gives me a bit more confidence for Il Lombardia. It looks like the weather should be good. If I have good legs, it’s a course that suits me, so I am looking forward to it and hoping for the best.”
