Introduction

A few months ago, NTT Pro Cycling connected as a team through a day of tough physical activity with lots of fun and some hard work. In one day, a rider and a staff member had to burn 5000 calories together as a team.

Now, we want to extend the challenge to our partners, and invite you to join us for a weekend of physical activity, fun and all for a great cause, Qhubeka!

Event Details

So what is the challenge? With the start of the Tour de France postponed until August, we’d like to commemorate the original start date by challenging our partners, along with our staff and riders, to cover the Tour de France distance (3470 km) over the weekend of the 27th and 28th June.

How Do You Get Involved?

1. Sign up for the challenge (below) by 19 June – You will then receive a confirmation of your entry via e-mail.

2. Once all entries are in, you will then receive your “Event Pack” where you will be assigned to a team that includes NTT Pro Cycling team members, as well as receive other relevant event details. (The total number of teams will be based upon total entries received, with 40-50 people per team)

3. On the weekend of the 27th and 28th June, teams will need to cover the distance of the 2020 Tour de France, 3470km.

4. Use #NTTPartnerChallenge to share your journey & follow the challenge on social media! We will collect this content over the course of the weekend and use it to document and showcase the event!

5. All teams will be required to submit their results by 17:00 CET on Sunday 28th June 2020 via the process provided in the “Event Pack”

Calculate The Distance

Cycling: the real amount of kms covered will be counted for the challenge

Walking: every km of walking counts for 7 kms towards the challenge

Running: every km of running counts for 4 kms towards the challenge

Swimming: every km of swimming counts for 10 kms towards the challenge

The Podium

Once we have the results, every team will be classified in 3 categories:

The Classics Team: a minimum of 1250 km (total distance of the 5 major classics – the monuments)

Tour de France team: a minimum of 3470 km

The Ultimate Cycling Team: a minimum of 4720 km (tour de France and classics together)

A final result of the top 3 teams will also be announced

Qhubeka

Be Moved speaks to who we are as a team, our purpose to keep moving forward, the call which inspires and move us. That is why, during this challenge, we’d like to encourage all participants to make a donation to Qhubeka.

Qhubeka means “to move forward” and their quest to distribute bicycles to communities in need across the African continent is even more relevant to mobilise healthcare workers and those in need of transport at this time.
